Ramona West Residence

Ramona, California

The concept for this landscape project reflects the surrounding beauty of the hills and large boulders scattered throughout the landscape. The design takes advantage of ocean views and opens up views to the nearby natural landscape which had been hidden by the previously designed landscape. Selecting boulders found on site and using them with recycled water, we were able to create a strong connection between the land and the house. Moving through a stone runnel surrounded by colorful flowers of native and drought tolerant plants, water starts and stops through a series of natural looking water features providing a variety of points of interest for the owners. The concept flows through the house and continues into the back yard and down into the pool with two vanishing edges contained by massive existing boulders.
